The brisket sandwich slaps! Made me feel like I'm in the south again. Owner is super cool to. Informed me on how they go about preparing their brisket.

We got this for lunch Togo the other day. It was good. The wings are huge but taste good. The ribs were really good. I also got the Mac n cheese it wasn't my thing but I'm used to traditional Mac n cheese. I will order from here again when I'm in the area.

Absolutely incredible needs selection. Wonderful ambience and outdoor seating if you decide to go in person, but I also found it quick experience with takeout.

I really enjoyed the ambience of this place and the vibe. They had some high table seating and TVs in there. The people working in the counter were super friendly and very helpful with the menu. I cannot wait to get home because the place smelled amazing. FYI, if you don't want to smell like Smokey barbecue, you should probably order pick up. I ordered the rib and wings combo. It was about 24 bucks or so. Everything tasted amazing and the barbecue sauce made it a little bit spicy even. I loved it! I highly suggest going here. Some people told me to cautious going into the Anacostia area, but I really didn't have any issues while I was there.

Food is always on point and cooked to perfection. The staff is always friendly and they even took my order one time when I shamefully walked in 5 mins before close. And the music just and decor just makes dining in very comfortable. Could use better seats tho lol

Craving BBQ and didn't want to cook. DCS has been on my radar for about a year so decided to let the SO drive me into the city while traffic was decent. We arrived soon after opening and the smell of smoked meat hits you when you enter, in a very good way! I opted for 1/4 pound pulled pork (my fav), 1/4 pound moist (I think that's what it's called, idk) brisket (2nd fav) and 1/2 pound of the half smoke (least fav). I also opted for the spicy collard greens, perfection. - Pulled pork: moist, hint of sweetness and light smoke, which is perfect. - Brisket: moist, melted in my mouth, good smoke, but wayyyy too fatty and a tad salty. I'll have to try the lean next time. - Half smoke: smoke was good, flavor tasted a little like old bay, a tad spicy. Nothing was "wrong" with it, just wasn't for me. - Collard greens: nice bite to them, garlicky, bit of a kick and a hint of sweetness. I should have ordered the large! Will we order from them again? ABSOLUTELY! Service was welcoming and my ordered was packed nicely. Oh, their BBQ sauce complimented the pulled pork and brisket well.

It is street parking and it smelled amazing walking into the building and it was clean. They had everything except the half smokes because they had ran out so I will return to get a half smoke. But the greens are soooooooo good and these wings with this bbq sauce is slapping.

Dc staple that has delicious bites. I love the wings and the half smoke is to die for !!! The pulled pork, pork belly, and brisket were delicious as well !! & if you're into veggies the Brussels are my go to. The service was nice as well. They bring the food to your table with a smile.

This review is for carry out lunch on a Sunday in mid-July. service: The woman taking orders at the register was super helpful and absolutely professional. What great customer service. food: The Smokehouse Melt ($14 as of 07/2024) was exceptional. Didn't really need the cheddar jack cheese, the brisket was fantastic. I'd probably order the Brisket Champ next time just to compare. So many sides and all priced at $7 for the small. I went with spiced fries and they were great. Probably have to try BBQ beans or brisket chili next time. I saw smoked wings and ribs coming out that looked amazing. details: It's a busy and efficient ordering set-up. Handful of stools in the front and a couple of tables in the back. Street parking, but it's pretty easy to find a place. Cool sculpted sheet steel art over the outside windows.
